Dr. Rubin is a board certified Neurologist who specialized in Neurorehabilitation and Spasticity management. He earned his B.S. degree from Hobart College in New York and received his MD from the State University of New York at Syracuse. He did his Medicine internship at Staten Island University Hospital in NY prior to completing his Neurology residency at the Neurological Institute, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NYC. He then did a Post-graduate fellowship with sub specialization in Neurorehabilitation at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital.

While practicing neurorehabilitation, Dr. Rubin started working with botulinum toxins mainly for the treatment of spasticity. Over the ensuing seventeen years, Dr. Rubin has injected thousands of patients with botulinum toxin for numerous therapeutic purposes. In addition he has participated in multinational studies of botulinum toxin and has investigated novel uses of the toxin. Although his initial use of Botox was therapeutic, over time patients started requesting he inject them for cosmetic purposes. Because of his thorough knowledge of facial neuroanatomy, including the actions of the muscles of the face, this leap from neurology to aesthetic medicine was seamless and natural. So he undertook the study of aesthetic medicine. To date he has trained in most aspects of aesthetic medicine, including the use of lasers for color correction, skin tightening and skin resurfacing. Dr. Rubin is the Florida President of the Alliance for Patient Access and serves on their Board of Directors. He is the recipient of the 2008 Patient Access Advocacy Hero award from Medtronic. Furthermore he is the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the American Society of Neurorehabilitation and is on the Board of Directors for the Foundation of the American Society of Neurorehabilitation. Dr. Rubin is also a fellow of the American Acadeny of Neurology.
