Dr. Baez is a Board-Certified Neurologist specializing in neurophysiology, epilepsy, and neuromuscular medicine. He earned his B.S. degree from University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL and received his M.D. degree from Ross University in Dominica, West Indies. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and Neurology residency at SUNY Upstate University in Syracuse, NY. He then did a post-graduate fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at North Shore-LIJ Health System (now Northwell Health) in Long Island, NY. During his fellowship, Dr. Baez became proficient in performing nerve conduction studies/EMGs as well as interpreting EEG studies. He also received additional exposure to epilepsy and neuromuscular patients as a result and was given specialized training in the diagnosis and management of those diseases. Most recently, he completed additional training on neuromuscular ultrasound at Wake Forest University in June 2017, which gives him another tool with which to diagnose complex neuromuscular conditions.
Dr. Baez also sees general neurology patients. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He has been involved in research on primary CNS vasculitis in the past and most recently in research on new treatments for neurorehabilitation. He holds membership in the American Academy of Neurology. In his spare time, Dr. Baez enjoys spending time with his family, playing racquetball/tennis, learning languages, and computer programming.
